Minister for the Environment in Northern Ireland’s laughable attempt at a parliamentary democracy, Sammy Wilson MLA, has rejected a UK government advertising campaign aimed at targeting energy wastage.
Wilson, who might well be considered a moron by some people, said that the adverts were “giving people the impression that by turning off the standby light on their TV they could save the world from melting glaciers and being submerged in 40ft of water”.
He said that was “patent nonsense”.
Mr Wilson, who has been described by some people as a moron, said he had written to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to say that the advertising campaign Act on CO2 “was not welcome”.
He explained that he did not believe in its message that “man-made greenhouse gas emissions are the main cause of climate change” and that the campaign was contrary to his personal views.
He told DECC: “I do not wish for climate change messages to be promoted by other Whitehall departments here”.
Mr Wilson, who once appeared in a newspaper photographed naked in a field with a woman who was not his wife, once described climate change activism as a hysterical pseudo-religion, in contrast to the hysterical actual religion ‘Free Presbyterianism’ perpetrated by many members of his political party.
Seriously, this man is the Deeply Unimpressive Party’s Westminster spokesperson on Education and Skills; is this the best Northern Ireland can hope to do with its new political dispensation? Does the Minister for the Environment really think it’s a good idea not to run adverts aimed at helping people reduce their energy usage, even in a recession, when all the work has already been done by the UK government?
Surely only a moron would think that.
I agree with Sammy Wilson and I have one of the highest IQs in Mensa. The article below appeared in Spacesignl, the Space special interest group Newsletter of the high IQ society Mensa. All the facts have been checked on Scientific papers on the Google Scholar search.
The increase in temperature due to CO² is logarithmical not linear as in some computer models. linear predictions produce the runaway temperature increases & therefore the Global Warming scare, logarithmical means that CO² becomes increasingly negligible in increasing Global temperatures, CO² has increased from 284ppm to 384ppm over a 200 year period, Carbon isotope levels show that 4% or 15ppm is due to man & 85ppm due to the 800 year CO² lag after the medieval warm period, adding only 0.125º Kelvin to the 4º Kelvin that CO² gives to the green house effect, with the addition of water vapour on temperatures of 13% this means that CO² has only increased the Global temperatures by 0.15º Kelvin and that man-made CO² has only increased the Global temperature by 0.0225º Kelvin. This is proved by two facts (1) Ice cores show that when the oceans warm up CO² is gradually released & peaks 800 years after Global Warming has peaked but does not lead to any detectable further warming or a runaway warming effect. (2) Tropospheric temperatures increasing at a faster rate than surface temperatures are undetectable.
Global warming on Mars has increased the temperature by 0.65°C between 1975 & 2000, melting the ice caps. Jupiter is developing a second giant red spot, an enormous hurricane-like storm, thought to be the result of a sudden warming on the planet. Some parts of Jupiter are now as much as 6°C warmer than just a few years ago. Neptune’s moon, Triton, studied in 1989 after the unmanned Voyager probe flew past warmed up by 5% by 1998. Parts of its frozen nitrogen surface have begun melting and turning to gas, making Triton’s atmosphere denser. Even Pluto has warmed in recent years, from -233°C to -230°C (3°C warmer). Seasons and distance from the Sun have been taken into account but no theories as to how the warming process occurs for each planet have been proven until now. The theory that says that the length of the Solar Cycle determines the temperatures on Earth has been proven by two facts (1) The changes in the brightness of Neptune correlate with the changes in the Earths Global temperature. (2) The theory predicted the drop in Global temperatures from 2007.Commenting on the reaction to this information the head of NASA Michael Griffin said ‘this is an issue which has become far more political than technical.

I doubt Paul Cottingham’s claim to be hold one of the highest IQ’s at mensa, plus its relevance in this debate is nill. Having a high IQ as determined by a mensa test does not Ratify an opinion on a subjective matter.
The fact is Sammy Wilson has a mandate which he is clearly ignoring, his personal options do not matter. He was elected to represent the people who voted for his party.
