There will be no high court injunction. There is a principle in general existence: never ask a question unless you know the answer.
The legal team I trust in matters of this sort believe that, although there is a constitutional and interpretational case to be made to block the count at Trinity, there may be a limited number of judges who would feel as strongly in this case as I do.
Since the cost of any re-election would be very high, it is to be expected that on this occasion, what is in my view a clear breach of the spirit of the law and an inconsistent application of it will be allowed to stand. It is a sad outcome that the likely last election to the Seanad held in this way has been so spectacularly mishandled by Trinity College.
