Living as I currently do in Dublin, I see the Lisbon Treaty referendum happening all around me. I am a British citizen, so I have no vote. Quite right, citizens of other nations shouldn’t have a say on the constitution of Ireland.
But, listening to the Marian Finucane show today, I know now that I would certainly vote no, even just to spite the lies of the yes side. Their conduct is hectoring, bullying and utterly disgraceful.
Of course, in my own country, I should have a vote, I was promised one. My government, led by Gordon Brown, doesn’t have the balls.
