The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, (the rebranded Holy Office of the Inquisition) appears to have rather spectacularly trapped itself in its own burning strawman, in its latest Dignitas Personae. By arguing that taking the morning-after pill is essentially an act of intent to terminate an embryo, the Holy See appears to have nailed down a moral and doctrinally watertight objection to the method of planned parenthood. There are only three big stupid obvious problems with their logic.
- Women’s bodies don’t work like that
- Women aren’t stupid
- Everyone knows points 1 and 2 except the Vatican.
