David Cameron is the man I’m delighted and proud to call my political leader. Last night, he showed to a fault how we were right to put our trust in him. Two weeks ago, in the aftermath of the first debate and public birth of Nick Clegg, I asked tories to ‘calm the fuck down’ [...]

Very little to say here. M&C Saatchi Saatchi & Saatchi*, Labour’s poster people, have run a competition for any cretin with MS Paint to have a go at saving Gordon Brown from the apparently inevitable embarrassing and potentially intensely satisfying fate of being an unelected Prime Minister fucked out on his ear. They chose a [...]

The announcement of proposed cuts to BBC services has been overwhelmingly welcomed by commercial broadcasters and judged as too timid by many conservatives. Yet the proposed changes and the timing represent serious challenges for the Conservatives as a party, and we should be immensely wary of too wholehearted an appetite for the cuts. Unless we [...]

I notice that, finally, consideration is being given to whether the Conservative Party should be fully invested in Northern Ireland, and what sort of interaction there should be between the party and the (inaccurately described) province. I’ve written about this before, when I was to a large extent agreeing with Jeff Peel (full disclosure – [...]

Dear Comrades Hoon and Hewitt, Let me first say that I am shocked, dismayed, disgruntled, flabbergasted, confused, angered, humbled, incensed, overwhelmed, overjoyed, under-impressed, reddened and outraged by your actions of the last few days. Like you, many years ago I was a bedwetting communist, unilateralist, bra-burning pinko trot progressive. You, however, seem to have abandoned [...]

So, the plot against Gordon Brown has died on its feet. Patricia Hewitt has seen for herself why the armed forces felt less than impressed by Geoff Hoon’s goat-like nimbleness, when he gave the arse of all interviews on the BBC Newsnight programme. Nick Robinson, the BBC’s Political Editor, went on to name six theoretical [...]

Much is being made of Lord Mandelson’s period at the helm of the Labour Party, but nohing which ought to worry or concern Conservatives.

Guido Fawkes’ normally excellent blog had a rather vicious go at Bell Pottinger PA guru Peter Bingle today; I was a little shocked at the visceral nature of the attack. It related to the decision of the Conservatives to urge PA companies to back off, and the decision of Bell Pottinger to not host a [...]

Harriet Harman, the hooness whose dream to be Deputy PM has been dashed by the ascendency of Lord Mandelson, has gone on the ridiculously offensive, by backing up Ministers Ben Bradshaw (hoon) and Chris Bryant (hoon) on their ill-conceived tory homophobia alloegations. Harperson said “The essential heart of the Tories is homophobic.” and asserted that [...]

Labour is getting desperate to portray the Conservatives as inherently nasty, deeply worrying and a danger to the UK. This is dangerously out of step with the general public’s thinking on the parties, and is a throwback to the time before the 1997 General Election.
