Having taken delivery of the HTC Desire yesterday, it would be a mistake to describe myself terribly shocked by the features it abilities of the device. I did enough research before delivery to know most of the key details. Nonetheless, I wasn’t quite prepared for the areas in which the Desire significantly betters the iPhone [...]

So I guess we don’t really thank Gawker Media and Gizmodo too much for their early reveal of the new iPhone. Announcing it on stage at San Francisco’s Moscone West, Apple CEO and chief deity Steve Jobs said ‘Some of you have already seen this’. Groans of disappointment rose up around the globe as we [...]

This time of year, for the last three years, has me checking the various Apple rumours websites, anxiously awaiting the launch of the new iPhone. I didn’t get the original, because frankly it was unfinished hardware. The day Carphone Warehouse told me there was an iPhone 3G available for me, I sprinted half a mile [...]

The Liberal Democrats have released their theme tune to download on iTunes. It’s a cross between a gospel tune and an anthem, and it’s not great, let’s be honest. Happily, I have taken the liberty of releasing the four tracks I submitted to the Liberal Democrats for consideration as their anthem for the 2010 election. [...]

The latest release of iPhone OS 3 appears to be resolving issues relating to wifi dropouts in general usage. Previously, wifi connection would fail apparently randomly, whilst appearing to remain connected. Now, it appears to work without pronounced dropouts. The phone appears to hold its connection and speed in its new configuration. Which is nice. [...]

If you’ve been left scratching your head about why the iPhone 3GS can be so awesome in many respects, but why it sucks in terms of its WiFi, you’re not alone. A few triangulated tests here have shown extreme variability, and you may wish to check out this very brief research paper before handing the phone in to Apple.
